Notice Regarding Company Policy and Future Content Updates

Hello, this is Project Moon Director Kim Ji-hoon.

Since the company’s founding, Project Moon has not engaged in ideological verification actions such as separately intervening in, questioning, or tracking employees’ personal beliefs or their activities on social media.

However, there has been one request that the company has consistently made to all employees. Regardless of any opinions expressed or activities conducted on personal SNS accounts, we asked that, at the very least, personal SNS accounts not be connected to the company if there was a risk of social controversy. This is because, given that many people hold different views on social issues, expressions made on personal SNS accounts may be perceived as the stance of the entire company, and if controversy arises as a result, it could cause harm to other employees and colleagues within the company as well as to the company’s operations.

These precautions have also been communicated repeatedly through company-wide announcements on internal messengers and verbally to team members at frequent intervals.

The illustrator currently at the center of the controversy had their personal SNS account nickname listed in the game credits, and the company requested confirmation and asked for cooperation to prevent any damage to the company and its employees due to controversy. In this process, further requesting detailed confirmation regarding whether the SNS account contained matters related to specific social controversies would have constituted ideological verification, and therefore we did not conduct any additional checks. As a result, we were left in a situation where we could only respond after the controversy had already arisen, which led to a delay in our follow-up actions.

As a result, starting from Chapter 5 of future updates, the works of the staff member in question will not be included in the game.

Separately, the staff member’s previous works were official company works created collaboratively by myself, as the representative, and the story team to express the world of Project Moon. We have determined that these works do not contain elements that would cause social controversy, and considering the practical time required for replacement, we believe it is more appropriate to focus time and effort on new works going forward rather than proceeding with a full replacement. Previous works related to earlier story content will remain, and the images of the staff member in the main UI will be gradually replaced over time.

As this constitutes a violation of internal rules for which prior warnings had already been given, the contract with the employee who became the subject of controversy will be terminated. We also ask that no further verbal abuse or threats, whether online or offline, be directed toward the staff member.

We sincerely apologize to the many users who simply wished to enjoy Project Moon’s content and have experienced concern and disappointment due to this issue unrelated to the game itself. Once again, while the company will not intervene in employees’ personal SNS activities, we will ask that such activities are not connected to the company and proceed with greater caution.
