Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff Skill 2 Text Changes & Error Fixes

Balance

Hello, this is Project Moon.

We would like to inform you of the following errors on Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff: Skill 2 effects and other texts on the same Identity.

The following issues will be corrected today via a hotfix. The hotfix will be applied upon restaring the game without a separate client update. However, please note that additional in-game downloads may occur.

We sincerely apologize for causing these Skill and text errors.

[Hotfix ETA]

- 1.9(THU) 19: 30(KST)
- There may be a ten minute margin of error to the above estimation.

Changes

1. Fixed an issue where Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff's Skill 2 Coin 1's [On Hit] and [On Crit] effects inflicted 'Pierce Fragility' as opposed to 'Pierce Resist Down' as it was written
- Before: The Coin inflicted 'Pierce Fragility', which is not what the text says
- After: Changed the text to 'Inflict Pierce Fragility' to match the actual effect getting inflicted
On Hit : Inflict 1 Pierce Fragility (2 times per turn)
On Crit : Inflict 1 Pierce Fragility next turn (once per turn)

※ So far, in previous cases in which Identities and E.G.Os did not work as intended, we tried our best to change their actual functionalities to match the descriptions. This was because the descriptions were usually the basis by which our users evaluated these Identities or E.G.O; if we were to change the text to match the actual functionalities after the fact, we would no longer have a point of reference in case of future errors, which could cause larger issues down the line.

However, in this case, if we were to do the same and change the 'Pierce Fragility' effect to 'Pierce Resist Down' effect, due to the uniqueness of these Keywords, it could mean that the Identity's in-game capabilities could be rather significantly changed.

Therefore, taking into account the uniqueness of Walpurgis Night, a limited Extraction, and in consideration for managers who have proceeded to extract after viewing the Identity's current in-game abilities, we intend to maintain the Identity's current statuses. In order to do so, we would like to make an exception this time to change the text to say 'Inflict Pierce Fragility' to match the actual effects instead.

Pierce Fragility is a more direct and general-use Keyword, and after testing the Identity in its current iteration, we decided that this was within the range of intended power/capability for the Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff Identity.

Also, we understand that Walpurgis Night events, as limited Extractions, are very important matters for the managers; considering that, we intend to make an exception this time to maintain the Identity's current capabilities as-is.

We once again deeply apologize for causing inconvenience to all managers who have been using Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff.

Changes

<Cause>

1. Not enough proofreading on the ID's actual functions and text data
Within the game's internal logic, each effect is defined by Keywords in English. The Keyword here was defined as "Pierce Fragility", but we confused the defined text with the other, intended effect, Pierce Resist Down—meaning that we mistakenly understood that it was inflicted as intended.

2. Not enough in-game testing
In the process of testing the Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff's in-game functionalities, we failed to verify the exact effects of his Skill 2. We did identify that the Skill's texts were applied as intended, but in the process of checking in-game, we did not verify that the effects that were actually inflicted against the enemies were correctly applied as Pierce Resist Down.

<Future Measures>

We confirmed that the cause of Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff's Skill 2 effect error was insufficient testing. In order to prevent similar issues from occurring again, we intend to make a standardized check-list specifically for Identities and E.G.O. When proofreading, by using the standardized check-lists, we will make sure that everyone working on the tasks test them in the same conditions, and try our best to reduce such human errors.

<Detailed Explanation of the Error>

Our initial intent when designing Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff's Skill 2, was to support and raise the damage floor of the Pierce Attack Type by making him inflict Pierce Resist Down. However, due to the error that inflicts Pierce Fragility instead of Pierce Resist Down, his current in-game role is support and increased damage.

If "Pierce Fragility" gets fixed to "Pierce Resist Down", as we initially intended, this will raise the damage floor of the Skill, but end up lowering the damage ceiling. Our concern was that this would be perceived as an indirect nerf of the character via the fix.

In order to prevent that, we adjusted the texts to fit the character's current state. Please refer to the example below for more information.

Example: Difference between Fragility and Resist Down in Damage Calculations

Fragility works by applying a Fragility Multiplier on the damage that takes Resistances into account, so it is affected by the target's Resistance.
- The 'lower' the target's Resistance, the 'lower the increased damage' via Fragility
- The 'higher' the target's Resistance, the 'higher the increased damage' via Fragility

However, the damage gain from Resist Down is more stable as it raises the target's Resistance when the target is strong against a certain Attack Type.

- The 'lower' the target's Resistance, the 'higher the increased damage' via Resist Down
- The 'higher' the target's Resistance, the 'lower the increased damage' via Resist Down

Using a Skill that deals 10 damage...

1) Attacking enemies with x0.5 Resistance
- With 3 Fragility
Final Damage 6.5
(10 x 0.5 x 1.3)
- With 3 Resist Down
Final Damage 8
(10 x 0.8)

2) Attacking enemies with x1 Resistance
- With 3 Fragility
Final Damage 13
(10 x 1 x 1.3)
- With 3 Resist Down
Final Damage 13
(10x 1.3)

3) Attacking enemies with x2 Resistance
- With 3 Fragility
Final Damage 26
(10 x 2 x 1.3)
- With 3 Resist Down
Final Damage 23
(10 x 2.3)

Changes

2. (EN Only) Fixed an issue where the activation timing for the second effect of Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff's 'Precision Aim' was written as 'Encounter Start' instead of 'Combat Start'
- Before: 'Encounter Start': if this unit is not set to use any Attack Skills (including E.G.O Skills), apply 3 Poise to 1 ally with the least Poise Potency
- After: 'Combat Start': if this unit is not set to use any Attack Skills (including E.G.O Skills), apply 3 Poise to 1 ally with the least Poise Potency
※ This was a text-only issue; the effect is not changed. Please note that the effect activating on 'Combat Start' means that it will activate more often than it does on 'Encounter Start', by activating every turn as long as the conditions are met.

3. (EN Only) Fixed an issue where one of the Keywords in Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff's Evade Skill was displayed as 'Unknown'

4. (JP Only) Fixed an issue where the word 'Poise' was missing from Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff's 'Headshot' Skill's [On Use] effect
- Before: Gain 3 and +2 Poise Count
- After : Gain 3 Poise and +2 Poise Count
